I'm working on new ideas for prints all the time, but with the running of my shop  'Little Print Press' on Etsy I rarely have time to make the work I dream about! I have put aside the next three weeks and will be dedicating it to some pieces I would like to submit for the RA summer show next year, that's if they go well of course!
 Last week I made some new editions specifically for my shop. See below.

NEW LIGHT PRIZE EXHIBITION

seventy two artists, four galleries.

I am extremely pleased to have been selected for this very prestigious show with some exceptional artists. In 2015 I won the printmakers prize and this time it went to the very talented Neil Bousfield.

The exhibition has just started at the spectacular Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. In March is travels to Huddersfield Art Gallery  and moves in June to The Bankside Gallery in London. The last stop - October 2018 - Jan 2019 is at the Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery in Carlise.

 Lots of my work, including new prints are for sale at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea. The Private View is today and then Thursday - Sunday. I'm on stand K1 with the Columbia Road Gallery. Please do pop in if you get the chance, there's so much on show.

I've been working on some new drawings and ideas for prints, I'm not sure if you could class these as still life pieces, or simply abstractions of the landscape. These pieces have been created from looking out of the window of my studio where I sit each day.

I've been beavering away making lots of new work. I will be taking a break from printing in the coming months, to focus on my new studio. I have bought a very big screen printing table, much bigger than the one I rent now. I can't wait to get started on some HUGE prints!!

Last week I worked on some new prints from my Plant Form series. 'Two Loops, grey/blue' & 'Four Leaves'. These are the same size as quite a few others, so mix and match to make a pair or a group. They are 58 x 45cm and handprinted onto gorgeous thick Italian Fabriano Rosaspina paper with deckles to two edges. £76 each and I ship anywhere in the world. Work in progress, 'On The Hillside' inspired by the colours of the fabulous Welsh woollen tapestry blankets I saw being made at Trefriw and the patchwork fields of the nearby hills on a recent trip to Snowdonia. 

Adding new colours and shapes to these little linear printed drawings.

Recently I was asked to make some work for a project Hawaii. I love making simple linear drawings into prints and here are two new ones. The rest of these editions are available for sale £42 each.   

Very soon I will be joining the St Jude's printmakers and my work will be available to buy through their online gallery. I have followed and loved the work of all of the St Jude's artists for many years so it is with great pleasure that I am going to join them! Back in the nineties I studied at the Royal College of Art with Jonny Hannah and Mark Hearld who were in my year. So along time ago, but fond memories of two great years there.

 My latest screenprint in soft greens and greys. I'm so pleased with this piece it really came together after a few days in the printmaking studio. It's available to buy. £245

This is my most recent print and now available in my shop. It's the same size as 'Meal Hill' below, which I made last year. I really loved 'Meal Hill' so I wanted to continue the series. They make a great pair!

This month I sent work to Columbia Road Gallery, London.  The Gallery opened it’s doors in the Summer of 2005.  The aim was to create a presence in London which accurately represented the modern artistic talent coming out of Cornwall.  The owner, herself born and raised in Cornwall, hand picks each exhibit directly from the artist’s home or studio, this care and attention shows through in the collection as a whole.  I’m delighted to have work on dispay here, I’m not from Cornwall myself but I think my work has a certain St Ives feel about it.

Thumbnail images of some of the drawings I have been working on in 2017. I wish I could make them all into huge screenprints, but there aren't enough hours in the day! Which shall I choose first.....? I think I'm going to start with the two square ones. There must be 25 layers here, so plenty to keep me busy over the next few weeks.

Happy New Year!

Lots of exciting things in the pipeline at the start of the year.

I begin printing again this week, it's nice to be back in the swing again.

I have pieces going to a gallery in London, I'll keep you posted on that.

 My R.A Summer Exhibition entry for 2017 has been purchased! Now to get on with the work to submit......

I plan to finish my screen printing studio in the coming months, all is going well so far. I have a new insulated floor, and electricity!

This is where I work at the moment. It's great, but it's a dream come true to have my own place at home.
