I am a full time printmaker working from my home studio near Holmfirth in Yorkshire. I exhibit regularly in the UK and Europe and sell my work all over the world, through my shop Little Print Press. Last year I won the NEW LIGHT ART PRINTMAKING PRIZE, judged by Norman Ackroyd RA.CBE. My work has been featured in Vogue, Country Living, 25 Beautiful Homes, House and Gardens magazines, amongst others. It can even be found on the Set of Mad Men' and other television sets in the USA.

I'm working on some simple drawings to translate into prints at the moment. The Hawthorne trees are just coming into bud and have lovely shapes. Top: 'Bud III' a screenprint made last week on Fabriano, and below it four little sketches in pen.
I decided to enter the New Light Exhibition due to the fact that it was for Northern artists only. Being able to show work in the beautiful Bowes Museum, Mercer and Panter and Hall galleries made it very enticing! Usually all other competitions are based in London so it made a nice change.
I was pretty shocked to win the print-makers award as the standard of work was incredibly high. I enjoyed talking to Norman Ackroyd RA CBE about my work on the night of the prize giving, he was very complimentary which was a great confidence boost. I haven't had any feedback about my work since I was studying at the Royal College of Art back in the nineties, and for me, this made the exhibition. I try to enter at least two prestigious competitions a year as I believe being judged by the best artists and experts in the business is a great way to get noticed and move your profile just a little bit further forward.
Being offered the solo exhibition at The Zillah Bell Gallery will be a fantastic opportuntity to show my work to a different audience. They have a fantastic reputation and catalogue of great artists showing there. As well as my show'Piecing the landscape', they exhibited and promoted my work at the Hepworth Print Fair last weekend and have asked me to be part of'The Contemporary Printmakers'exhibition in May. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to be showing alongside Royal Academicians.
'Arches' screenprint in ten colours, finished yesterday! I'm so pleased with this print it was worth the seven hours of colour mixing it took to get it right! It's very subtle but very painterly too. The colours remind me of the seaside, sticks of rock and deck chairs.
'Meal Hill' screenprint and pencil on Fabriano Rosaspina, 76 x 56cm, edition 15, 2016
This latest print has nine layers of ink and six separate sections of hand coloured pencil work. It will be exhibited very shortly at The Zillah Bell Gallery in Thisk as part of my solo exhibition 'Piecing The Landscape'
